A special Mission Drive movie screening

Shelby Tindall, Co-managing Editor

Poverty. It a common word we hear all throughout our life. We know there is poverty in the world, but most of us probably don’t know the true, stark reality. 1.1 billion people live on only $1 a day. But what does that really mean and feel like?

In the film, “Living On One Dollar,” four friends from the United States decide to find out, and go to Guatemala where they live on only $1 a day for 56 days. During Mission Drive, CI will be hosting a special screening of the movie on March 25 at 6 P.M. in the gym. Tickets will be sold for $5 and can be bought at the CI office beforehand or at the dollar. Make sure to bring your own comfy chairs and there will be chips and popcorn sold at the event.
