You know it’s fall when you drive to your local grocery store and walk into a sea of red, orange, and brown. Everywhere you look you see wreaths, faux leaves, and cornucopia sitting on the display tables. Even the packaging on food items have changed slightly to reflect the fall season.

Even though these decorations do a good job of getting us in the seasonal spirit, sometimes they can go a little overboard. One trademark of this holiday season that has been overdone is the infamous pumpkin flavor—and I’m not just talking about delicious pumpkin pie.

For example, go to the candy section in Target and pick up a bag of m&ms. You will see that aside from the normal chocolate or peanut flavored ones, there are now orange bags of pumpkin spice m&ms. I don’t know about you, but eating bite-sized pieces that taste like pumpkin will definitely overwhelm my autumn senses.

Annoyed with how long it takes to bake a pie and wait for it to cool down? Don’t worry, there is a quick and easy solution. If you look in the frozen aisle of Safeway and go straight to the ice cream section, a pint of Pumpkin Pie Ice Cream will be waiting for you. Now you will never have to wait for another pie again because you can just eat it in ice cream form.

And let’s not forget about breakfast, the most important meal of the day. Kellogg’s introduces pumpkin spice Eggo waffles—available only in season of course! Nothing sounds more delicious than waking up and eating pumpkin saucers with syrup on top. Way better than those chocolate chip waffles, am I right?

For snack time, put down that boring bag of potato chips. Instead, stock up your pantry with mouth-watering pumpkin pretzels and pumpkin pie spice Pringles. Satisfy your chocolate craving with pumpkin Hershey kisses or Ghirardelli chocolate squares.

The list of ridiculous foods is so lengthy that it would keep us here until next November. But the ultimate winner of the pumpkin flavor craze has to be Wrigley’s Extra Pumpkin Spice Sugar-Free gum. Nothing says kiss me quite like breath that wreaks of pumpkin and fall spirit.
