Mr. MeyeMeyersrs

Where are you working now/what are you doing now?

I’m working at Mercy High School, San Francisco as the Director of Academic Affairs (which is a job similar to Cob’s)

What are some differences between your current job and Presentation?

At Presentation my job was almost exclusively focussed on Speech & Debate which I am no longer involved in at my current job. Aside from that, many things are similar, eerily so: the Mercy sisters were founded by an Irish woman passionate about educating young women; there is a strong emphasis on service; and the all girl environment is still the best of environments to work in.

What do you miss most about Pres?

The people – faculty, staff, families and students alike.

What is your favorite memory from Pres?

That’s hard. Six years at PHS provided a number of great memories. Some things that are up there include the petting zoo (pigmy goats!), watching my Speech & Debate students graciously improve and find success, and the random relationships with students that weren’t even on the team or in the program.

If you could come back to Pres for a day, what would you do?

Where are you working now/what are you doing now?

I’m working at CSU Monterey Bay teaching Spanish 101 and 102.

What are some differences between your current job and Presentation?

  • all I have to do is teach: no clubs, prayer services, retreats etc.
  • the rooms are bare-bones: no doc cameras, no Apple TV, no iPads. I had to buy my own presentation remote.
  • less than a quarter of my students bring laptops, so I can’t do any online activities in class
  • No one cares if I wear jeans or yoga pants to school
  • there are no supplies available – not even a paper clip. I had to pay for my parking pass

Here’s what’s the same:

  • students and faculty are friendly and helpful
  • standards are high and students are anxious and worried about succeeding

What do you miss most about Pres?

The love: At Pres I never went day without getting hugged by someone

What is your favorite memory from Pres?

May Day and the seniors in their spring dresses

If you could come back to Pres for a day, what would you do?

Get hugs, go to May Day. I hope I see you all there!

Where are you working now/what are you doing now?
Currently I have one of the hardest jobs on earth…I’m a stay-at-home mom! I’m home ALL DAY with a 4 year old and an infant!

What are some differences between your current job and Presentation?
Everything is different! I find that it was WAY easier to work with teenage girls than with my crazy little boys!

What do you miss most about Pres?
Two things! First, I miss my work family- the people who started off as colleagues, who became my friends, who became my family. And second, my athletes! They are the reason why I loved being an Athletic Trainer.

What is your favorite memory from Pres?
I wish I could pick just one. The truth is, after spending 12 years at Presentation I take away many fond memories. In that time was fortunate to be a part of many league and CCS championship teams, and even the 2011 volleyball state championship team. And perhaps the most enduring, were those little occasions when my former athletes stopped by to express their gratitude for my services, and their memories in the training room. Just a small sample of the memories I will forever cherish.

If you could come back to Pres for a day, what would you do?
The funny thing is I have visited Pres at least every month since I’ve left, whether it is to watch a game or visit my former colleagues. Unfortunately, I never seem make it past the Athletic Offices; I get so caught up with the athletes and staff that by the time I head up to the front office to see everyone else it’s already closed. One day I will make it up there, I promise! And when I do, I will have my boys in tow.

Mrs.RahmigRahmig

Where are you working now/what are you doing now?

I currently work at Forest Ridge School of the Sacred Heart, an all-girls Catholic school in Bellevue, WA (just outside of Seattle). It’s actually the school I went to growing up. I teach 9th grade Physics and International Baccalaureate Biology to 11th and 12th graders.

What are some differences between your current job and Presentation?

Forest Ridge is a lot smaller than Presentation. The entire high school has just over 200 students, so my classes are a lot smaller – my smallest class actually only has 7 students, and my largest class has 19.

What do you miss most about Pres?

I miss the comradery among the faculty at Pres. I know it’s weird to think of your teachers as being friends, but we really were. We spent a lot of time together (I mean A LOT – our day didn’t end with the last bell!), and we became like family because of it. I also miss many of the students I taught as freshmen and sophomores my last year at Pres, because I know they’re getting ready to graduate now, and I don’t get to see all of the wonderful things they’ve been up to the last 2 years!

What is your favorite memory from Pres?

Some of my favorite memories at Pres come from doing the faculty/parent/alumnae musicals. I know we weren’t all that good, but we tried really hard and put in long hours rehearsing. It was nerve-racking, but also really fun. I also have a great memory from April Fool’s day several years back when all of the faculty wore argyle and started a flash mob during class.

If you could come back to Pres for a day, what would you do?

  • Go to APES class (because I loved that class!)
  • Track down the juniors and seniors I had in Biology and find out what they’ve been up to the last 2 years
  • Sit outside for lunch and enjoy the sunshine (hopefully) that I haven’t seen much of lately here
  • Swim some laps in the pool
  • And maybe convince a couple teachers to go get vegan burritos at Adelita’s
