On Friday, Nov. 8, thirty-two students arrived at Presentation High School at 5:30 am – and not to avoid morning traffic. These students were participating in student council’s second annual “Wake Up With Service” event.

Every year in early November, the Sacred Heart Community Center has a day where people and families can register to receive holiday gifts and meals. Some people wait outside on the cold, dark streets since as early as 3 pm the previous day.

This was the second year that student council’s service committee organized “Wake Up With Service.” This service opportunity allowed student council members of all class levels to go to Sacred Heart to take part in the registration process. The girls gave out food and beverages and talked to the people and families outside of the community center. ASB Co-President Maddie Guidoux said, “It was a great way to start my morning and really reminded me how fortunate I am to have everything I have.”

The students stayed at Sacred Heart for an hour before going back to school to continue their day.
