Whether you enjoy being a couch potato or love staying active during the holidays, there is an activity for everyone to make the best of the winter break.  Here is a roundup of the best places to visit this holiday season.

  • Christmas in the Park (San Jose, open through Jan. 1)
    • Santa Paws animal adoptions (every Thursday-Sunday): Give a pet the gift of a warm, loving home this holiday season
  • The Nutcracker
    • San Francisco Ballet (Dec. 10-29)
    • Silicon Valley Ballet (Dec. 12-27)
  • Driving or walking around to look at holiday lights
    • Glen Eyrie, Glen Echo, Glen Brook Ave. (Willow Glen): Every street features their own theme of lights from giant reindeer, to colored icicles, to candy cane archways.
    • Fantasy of Lights (Los Gatos, Dec. 6-30)
